BRIDGE TO ETERNITY  is a narrative derived from Stravinsky's ballet THE RITE OF SPRING.  It also pays homage to Picasso borrowing idioms from his love of carnaval and harlequin.

This is the face of the hidden muse. She is formed by the flaming tree and the three graces dancing in the Rite Of Spring. She is looking up at the Poet, who is also partly hidden. These are not easily seen in the painting as a symbol of them not easily seen in life.
